Test your knowledge of the names of different types of meat and seafood in this free online interactive picture game.
In the game you will see images of different animals and have to match the name of its meat to it. You will find the following meats and seafoods in this game: bacon, beef, chicken, duck, fish, goat, ham, lamb, mutton, pork, rabbit, shellfish, squid, turkey, veal & venison.
Before playing this game, it is important to know that the names of meat in English are not always the same as the name of the animal it comes from. So the meat of a 'pig' isn't called 'pig'. In fact the meat of a pig has three different names, depending on how the meat is treated. In addition, the names of the meat of sheep and cows/bulls are also different, and they also differ depending on how old the animal is when it is killed/slaughtered.
If you are interested in testing your knowledge of other types of food, you could also do our picture/photo games on vegetables vocabulary or on the different methods of cooking food.
It's simple. Match the name to the picture/photo. You have 20 seconds to identify the name of the meat or seafood in the picture to the animal(s) while it is slowly revealed. Click on the name below the picture which you think it is.
The quicker you identify the picture, the more points you get. However, if you guess wrong you won't be able to make another guess for 1.5 seconds. Also, the less wrong guesses you make in the game, the more bonus points you are given at the end.
Press the 'Play The Game' button to take you to the start of the game.
Although the content (the vocabulary and images/photos) is the same, the version of this game is different (because of the screen space) between when you play it on a mobile phone and when you play it on a bigger screen device (like on a laptop, a desktop or a large interactive board screen). The game on bigger screen devices has been designed for more classroom environments.
