Test your knowledge in this free online interactive game of the names of crimes/criminal offences which are committed against people (where people are physically and/or emotionally hurt). In this game you will be shown the names of different crimes against people and you have to match each to its definition.

You will see the definitions/descriptions of the following crimes in the game: abduction, affray, aggravated assault & battery, anti-social behaviour, assault, battery, domestic violence, harassment, involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, mugging, murder, rape, sexual assault & voluntary manslaughter .

If you are unsure about what some of the above criminal offences are (i.e. the types of actions involved), I would recommend doing our two vocabulary exercises on types of crimes against people after you have done the game, where you will learn exactly what is involved in each crime.

If you haven't done it yet, you can try our other game on crimes and test your knowledge of the names of crimes which are committed against property or are financial (e.g. involving stealing).

How to play it

It's simple. Match the name of the crime to the definition/description. You have 25 seconds to identify the crime for each of the definitions which you are given. Click on the name of the crime below the definition/description which you think it is.

The quicker you identify the definition/description, the more points you get. However, if you guess wrong you won't be able to make another guess for 1.5 seconds. Also, the less wrong guesses you make in the game, the more bonus points you are given at the end.

Press the 'Start The Game' button to begin the game.

Different versions of the game

Although the content (the vocabulary and images) is the same, the version of this game is different (because of the screen space) between when you play it on a mobile phone and when you play it on a bigger screen device (like on a laptop, a desktop or a large interactive board screen). The game on bigger screen devices has been designed for more classroom environments.
